To wrap my summer up, I`ve been out to eat with my family a couple of times, first for my sister`s surprise birthday dinner (8/23)

Little Pleasures *quick messy post*

I don`t know how many of you struggle with money problems or just struggle and splurge anyway but lately the only money I have is that which is given to me out of the kindness of my mother`s heart. Which doesn`t happen often, she`s kind but she has other stuff to do with it you know. The only time I`m ever really out is when someone offers to take me out so I`ve been fortunate but it`s still depressing not having your own shit together and all your efforts to change that not working. I`m trying to live a little more humbly so material stuff doesn`t effect my mood. But this post isn`t about that...Gals love clothes...most girls in general do and I haven`t been able to go real shopping for a very long time and out of the blue my mother`s friend comes over and gives us all this stuff. The best part is, it`s all gently used and the people in her house know how to dress so I almost cried since clothes were the furthest thing on my mind (priorities first)!!! My cell isn`t the best with pictures and it doesn`t help that I have a dim room so here goes:

There were a lot of shoes but most were too heeled for my pigeon toed stroll and they were also 9s, 10s and so on , I can only wear 7 1/2s and 8s if I`m lucky. The pants and stuff were also too big with the exception of this skirt.

I like the split is in the front but something about it is reminiscent of the more extreme gal styles (kuro,banba, manba, older)  so although I don`t know how to wear it, I`m going to.

Accessories: 

I also went to the beauty supply store to buy some stuff to incorporate in my gal style that could also be used for when I`m doing my natural hair.  I also needed some stuff I was lacking like nail stuff for what I have and face masks for a home day spa I`m planning to have with two of my closest friends before they leave and start school.  

The necklace on the far left had an Egyptian necklace feel to it although it`s longer in some ways

so I HAD to have it, the earrings are also big and have multiple loops. 

I`m nothing but happy now!!!

Natural hair, art and life lately...

Hello lovelies!!! This post has been sitting in my drafts for awhile while I was deciding what to do with it so I guess I`m back tracking a little... I`ve been going out quite a bit but living too much in the moment to take pictures as always and my private life is just that, so not spilling too many details there...  I dress up but for the most part I`ve been exploring being more natural as well.

From 7/14...I think ....I`d like to think my hair is a little more tamed now, a little less shrinkage so it looks fuller since I`ve been giving it more attention  .

 I don`t plan on permanently giving up makeup, extensions and all that fun stuff. I know there are a few black gals or girls of color inspired by Japanese/Gal/Asian fashion (I don`t know what they consider themselves personally) out there who try to work with their own hair and hairstyles suited for textures similar to mines like Najia and Glee. Two posts from them that caught my attention right away are Glee`s Gyaru-fro and Najia`s natural hair girls guide to gyaru (I love the details in this post and the message at the end the most). For the time being I`m experimenting else where and most importantly I`m trying to get my money right again...I`m broke. I`ve been filling out applications like crazy but haven`t been getting any results and at one point I was looking into housekeeping to build up references and experience but my mom had me thinking someone was going to tie me up and throw me in a basement or something. I`m just going to fill out more apps and calling back places like crazy,  hopefully something goes my way.

I`ve also been focused more on my art and taking it in a bit of a new direction. On one of my dates I went  Wicker Park to explore a little bit. We went to a huge book store where I found Hideyuki Kikuchi`s  2 part book A Wind Named Amnesia and Invader Summer with a few beautiful illustrations from Yoshitaka Amano.

 I think it`s just the sweetest thing that my date is always trying to inspire me so he took me to see a lot of graffiti. A few of my favorites.

As a result of this and some of his other efforts I`ve been drawing quite a bit and planning some new projects. Here`s a few under the cut...some are a bit nudy but tasteful...but if you don`t like boobs and stuff don`t click...

11 things about me:

1. I like morbid, gory things especially if they have a sickeningly cute twist

2. Although I settled on illustration as a major in college, I only did it to strengthen my drawing skills since I`ve been working on a fiction project for over 6 years and still going but I want to do too much. 

3. I used to want to be an idol (probably still do) in every way possible (singing, dancing, modeling etc) , not for attention but too be talented and inspirational but I`m too secretive and  unconfident. The fact that I used to take dance lessons (tap, jazz, ballet)  until around 1st or 2nd grade some random African and hip hop classes makes it worst since I actually wish I stuck to them so I didn`t have to just dance like an idiot behind closed doors.

4. I think more than I talk because my mouth can`t keep up with my brain but when I`m with people I tend not to think at all even when it looks like I am and I just ramble endlessly depending on who I`m with.

5. I`ve never been a girly girl and rokku gal and ora ora kei  looks are what keep me drawn to gal

6.  Despite my innocent demeanor I `m a perv and have some interests....that is all about that for now 

7.  I don`t listen to the radio and rarely watch tv.

1.  My biggest inspiration is hard. I have so many but if I`d say my mom. Cliche I know but the woman raised me and my sister all by herself. She chose not to beg for anything from anyone and looking at some of the people I grew up, even if some were more privileged in some ways, something about the way my mom raised me kept me from ending up accepting ignorance as a lifestyle like them and instead I`ve learned to be strong and open-minded from her. She`s come a very long way and I know I`ll never be as strong, confident and amazing as she is but being raised by her has given me something to aspire to be one day.

2. I don`t really know what my favorite fashion concept of 2012 was...I don`t follow trends...can I say KuroGal, I didn`t really hear of it much although it was out there until 2012.

3. Sorry I`m not into Hollywood celebs.

4. I love music too much to choose favorite musicians...I listen to a lot of Salyu and Chara these days.

5. In 10 years I see myself being successful enough to live where I want, traveling every once in awhile but ultimately settling down somewhere secluded, creating art all day.

6. I really don`t read blogs as much as I used to but I enjoy lurking on Tomo, Nami and Lisha`s blog every now and then. I love Lhoraii!!!
