Before I get into my actual ATTEMPT, I just want the world to know this is in NO way, shape or form a tutorial. I`m new to makeup in general and have been wearing it for almost a year now. I DO NOT know how to use eye shadow, this is seriously my FIRST time using any color on my eyes. This is my FIRST manba attempt and and if it ends up on G_S because some mean-spirited person stumbled upon my blog then so be it. I just wanted to document each phase of the process for myself so I can improve and get advice. I intended to go for manba but looking at the actual outcome I think it`s still more banba...
Last Halloween I decided to play around with the poorly pigmented costume makeup after the kiddies were done getting ready. It`s not Manba, it`s not even banba, it has nothing to do with trying to be Gyaru but I feel like it was the first time I was inspired to take some element of older Gal style and run with it.
Yes it was bad, I basically smeared the white cream over my face where I though it should go but with no real technique. There wasn`t any eyeliner (I recall trying to use the black stick that came with the stuff, before or after I do not know), there was no foundation, no bronzer, no mascara. Just a messed up costume wig, white cream and a flower. At the time I thought I accomplished something but now I know it was bad.
Now here`s an actual TRY. I`m not trying to intentionally deeply disturb anyone with my un-made up face (no foundation or anything). but here it is.

Why do I did I do this? Because when I`m on other Gal`s blogs it`s like looking at a magazine and feeling hopeless because I`ll never achieve that look. I think it`s important to remember everyone`s imperfect but there are ways to work with imperfections and it`s a process for everyone. For me I have acne issues and there is some scarring but I`ve been doing all I can for my skin. Under the scarf my hair is natural.
MOISTURIZE!!!!! PLEASE ALWAYS MOISTURIZE BEFORE FOUNDATION!!!!!
Eye makeup start...Experimenting with the shape of the white using a Maybelline concealer stick:
Experimenting with eyeshadow...it`s so hard choosing colors so I just went with blue, I wanted to add more colors or some black but it got pretty late and I didn`t want to mess up.
Eyeliner (didn`t really know what to do with it)....
Nose stripe, (I don`t know how to contour yet so I used a little powder), lashes, etc.... No bottom lashes...I was going to use the remnants of the ones I messed up but I`ve never used bottom lashes before. I was going to take a few pictures and then try it out but I got carried away... I tried to adjust my wig differently to make the makeup more visible...
I didn`t like it. I also noticed my lenses were missing sooo....
Then I noticed my lashes and the blue makeup were perfect together even though I didn`t do it intentionally...But something still felt missing...(prepare for the bad camwhoring)
I really wasn`t dressed up. I stayed in all day and just threw something on because I felt like trying to do something new with my makeup. As you can see I hated my shirt and switched it. Also I think I have a really weird face, I have BIG eyes and my lids are weird. I find it really hard to be photogenic. Most of the time I look like a deer stuck in headlights without even trying. So I try to put up as much as I can to ensure that I took at least one nice picture out of the bunch.
I also took some pictures for my dad since Father`s Day is coming up.
A picture of me, my father and his gf last year before I even knew what Gyaru really was...I just noticed I don`t really have many pictures of us...
We`re on the same mental level but emotionally we`re not very close, at least not to me. He`s NEVER seen me wear makeup like this soooo.... Anyway he gave me this doll for Christmas when I was really little. It`s one of the few things he`s given me that I can hold onto forever. I wonder if he`ll even remember it when he sees the pictures.
On the inside of the doll`s chest:
Well that was my update, I tried to make it interesting and I hope I did an ok job.
